Bioscience Review: Events Officer

Hi! I’m Rhea :) and I am running to be the Bioscience review events officer! I would love to be a part of a team of scientists that are passionate about science and technology. I have noticed that there aren’t as many events and therefore not many authors and editors interact with each other. I would like to rectify this! I think it would be really cool to introduce more events and workshops teaching students how to write good articles, or allowing people to bounce ideas off each other, and I hope to make this happen. Here are my qualifications:

Experience:

I've written scripts for scientific podcasts as part of the Neurodiversity club in Hong Kong, and have helped edit scientific papers for science competitions. I have edited many of my own research projects in the past two years. I've also taken many creative writing projects, notably working as President for the Charity Crochet club where I worked closely with charities to edit reports and present information concisely and in an engaging manner.

A love for science:

I love to read the science and arts section in newspapers like the Financial Times and National Geographic, and love to learn through accessible science platforms such as Ted-Ed. I want to showcase my passion for science in a manner that is accessible to a large variety of audiences.

I hope to help out as much as I can to make the club more engaging!
