FemTech: Media and Publicity Officer

Hello everyone, I’m Eda Bakay, an aspiring final-year Biological Sciences student, and I’m excited to apply for the role of Media & Publicity Officer for the FemTech Society. I have been a dedicated member of the society for the past two years, and it has become one of the most inspiring communities I have been part of at Imperial. The FemTech conferences and events have always given me hope and motivation, especially during challenging moments at university.

Women’s health is an area I deeply care about. Through my research experience in ovarian cancer and my involvement in health-related initiatives such as Diabetes UK, I have developed a strong interest in improving healthcare and awareness around conditions that affect women. In the future, I hope to pursue postgraduate training in either Graduate Entry Medicine or Dietetics, continuing to work in areas connected to women’s health and preventative care.

As Media & Publicity Officer, I would aim to make FemTech events even more visible and accessible by promoting them effectively across social media and campus platforms. I would love to help showcase the incredible work of our speakers, partners, and members while encouraging more students to engage with conversations around women’s health and technology. I would be honoured to contribute to the society that has already inspired me so much.
