Biology: Sponsorship Officer

My name is Hannah K, and I am running for BioSoc Sponsorship Officer. I value clarity and concision in communication, and I believe these are essential qualities for building successful and professional relationships with sponsors.

I bring relevant experience to this role, having been selected in my first term to fundraise for Imperial’s bursary schemes. This involved direct outreach, persuasive communication, and representing the university professionally. Alongside this, I have extensive experience in debate, public speaking, and industry communication, and I genuinely enjoy negotiation and discussion.

As Sponsorship Officer, I plan to strengthen BioSoc’s outreach by approaching Imperial alumni as a first port of call, recognising their existing connection to both the university and the department. I would also explore more flexible sponsorship opportunities, including partnerships that are not exclusively biology-focused, in order to broaden our potential sponsor base.

Above all, I am highly motivated to take on this role! While getting 'free goods' is obviously a very important aspect, I am equally interested in developing long-term, meaningful relationships with industry partners. I believe this could enhance career opportunities and contribute to a more engaging experience for students within the Biology department. I am also enthusiastic about partnering with other departmental societies to carry out bigger and better events and sponsorship opportunities!
