Hey everyone! I’m Iqra, a second-year medical student, and I’m running to be YOUR O&G Society Conference Co-ordinator next year! 🫵🏼
Let's start with my experience:
1. MM Year 1 Co-ordinator 📚
- Coordinated 22 high-yield tutorials & 9 SBA tutorials (BRS & POM)
- Led and supported a team of 6 tutors, collecting thorough feedback throughout
- Lead the creation of a 2-hour POM mock
- Developed strong leadership, organisation, and time-management skills, ensuring tutorials are well-run and inclusive
2. Head of Believe & Do Campaign 💐
- Led a subcommittee delivering multiple community events over three weeks
- Organised planting workshops at a primary school, a sign language workshop, children's trip to a trampoline park, visits to elderly care homes, and community garden clean-ups.
- Strengthened my ability to manage logistics, conduct thorough risk assessments, and ensure that events are safe, inclusive, and well-run.
3. Charity Week Auction Dinner Subcommittee 🍽️
- Contacted sponsors to secure donations and auction prizes
- Developing my communication and coordination skills
My Vision 🤩:
If elected, I will:
✅ Ensure seamless logistics and detailed pre-planning for the conference
✅ Prioritise safety with thorough risk assessments
✅ Introduce and arrange new, engaging, interactive workshops (like case-based and real-life simulations workshops)
✅ Work closely with the team to deliver an inspiring, well-run conference
I’m organised, proactive, and passionate about O&G - a beautiful speciality that perfectly blends medicine and surgery, continuity of care with high-intensity moments!
