Suchir Gupta

Hi, I'm Suchir, a first year JMC student, and I'm really excited to run this year for Events Officer for our Hindu Society.

Having been on the subcommittee this year and attended events such as the Diwali ball & Garba, I've immersed myself into the society - I now have plans to elevate the already amazing events we have whilst keeping the society spiritually grounded.

My aims are as such:

Increase participation from 1st years: I will introduce monthly Hindu Soc board game nights, puzzle competitions, friendly poker tournaments and collaborations with kcsoc. I hope to use repeated events as a pathway to get more freshers involved in the society, compared to as of now where a lot of students come just for the big events and then never again.

Get more free food: I will utilise contacts in South Asian restaraunts to get more sponsors for our society. This may even lead to full meals every week through HinduSoc (and I know I for one will never say no to free food)

Ground everything we do in faith: In every event carried out, strengthen our Sanatan Dharm and learn more together. I will work closely with our Sanskaar coordinators to ensure this, as well as organise events with our kcsoc and other universities Hindu Societies.
