Hiten Umarnani

Hello everyone, I’m Hiten, a first-year Maths student. This has been my first year quizzing and I’ve truly had an incredible experience; I've attended almost every tournament that I have had the opportunity to go to and have met some wonderful people along the way. I’d really love the opportunity to give something back and help the society be the best it can possibly be.

I am reliable and organised: I’ve already had experience planning and organising in my role as a Year 1 Academic Representative for Maths and have worked diligently to serve my cohort. I’d also be really interested in helping organise more collaborative events with other societies, as I think that’s a great way to expand our reach while keeping things fresh for those who want a change from standard buzzer quizzing. I believe encouraging more people to try quiz is a very important task, especially when we have a new batch of students in the next academic year and I'd be willing to help manage the society’s social media, whether that’s promoting events or simply increasing engagement, in order to further that goal. Additionally, I would help communicate suggestions and complaints from anyone who has them to the committee, and make sure they're listened to or actioned upon, which has been one of my key responsibilities as Academic Rep.
