Last year, I had the opportunity to be part of the subcommittee where I worked on creating promotional content for both our annual conference and our weekly Journal Clubs. I truly enjoyed being involved in shaping how our society presents itself. I designed posts to ensure our events reached the right audience. Seeing the strong attendance and engagement was showing how strong our promotions were, and it was incredibly rewarding.
Our conference had leading figures in oncology, and being part of the team that helped promote such an event made me realise how powerful strong branding can be.
Next year, I would love to focus even more on consistency, timing, audience targeting and creating a recognisable identity that people immediately associate with our events. While we achieved a lot last year, I believe there is always room to grow. Increasing engagement for Journal Clubs throughout the year could be a nice way to start.
I believe my experience running 4 accounts with 2k+ followers and my five years of experience as a Public Relations Head and content creator for a robotics club, where I led branding strategy and project promotions, are some qualities that would make me a good choice. I’m confident not only in creating engaging content but in planning strategically, especially for Journal Clubs.
Canva, Figma, and Adobe are my hobbies, and I love designing all sorts of media. I will continue to try to build a recognisable identity that reflects Oncology, with the perspective of a bioengineer.
