Lena Hamza

Hi everyone! I’m Lena and I would love to be Social Media / Publicity officer for Plastic Surgery Society. Having attended conferences this year such as ‘Emergencies in Plastics’ and having organised a clinical placement for myself during which I shadowed a plastic surgeon, I have developed a real passion for the specialty and so I would love to continue exploring this interest, whilst being a part of the team that puts together events which inspire others to go into Plastics. In order to build my tutoring clientele this year, I made posters advertising my tutoring services which resulted in much interest and so I believe I am suited to the role of Social Media / Publicity officer for Plastics. This year, I was also part of a team that organised ‘Meet the Paediatricians’- an academic conference (during my role as subcommittee member for Paediatric society) and so I have developed many skills necessary for the role of Social Media / Publicity officer, such as being proactive in nature and forward planning. In addition, being an active committee member of SIMA (Student Iraqi Medical Association) as charity officer has meant that I have further developed my skills of working collaboratively and keeping within deadlines.
