Ying Khaw
Hi, I’m Ying, and I’m excited to run for publicity officer.
In plastic surgery, we often speak about restoring form and function – but ultimately, we help shape identity. My vision is to build both a sustained following and a strong, recognisable identity for iPRAS at Imperial.
Publicity should not only promote events – it should cultivate community and establish a clear presence for iPRAS on campus.
Through my experience as Events Officer at Malaysia Medics International and involvement in operations for our 11th Annual Summit, I have seen first-hand how strategic promotion and clear branding directly influence engagement and turnout. After building a foodie presence on TikTok, I have gained practical experience in content creation, audience growth, and understanding social media engagement — skills I would apply to strengthen and shape iPRAS’s online identity.
My vision :
- Developing a cohesive and professional visual identity so that iPRAS content is instantly recognisable
- Introducing consistent content series to maintain engagement beyond flagship events, including:
- Meet the Committee
- Meet the Surgeon
- Plastics Spotlight
- Tailoring content to different year groups – from introductory material for pre-clinical students to portfolio and career-focused content for senior students – ensuring relevance across all stages of medical school.
- Analysing post-performance insights to refine strategy and continuously grow iPRAS’s online presence.
- Promotion of sponsor products to aid in maintaining sponsor relations
As Publicity Officer, I want iPRAS to be more than a compilation of conferences — I want it to be a visible, respected and welcoming presence on campus.
