Hi! I’m Adam Wang, one of your current Events Officers (and second-year Computing), and I’d love to be your Senior Events Officer for the next academic year.
This year, I’ve gone big with my events. I’ve hosted Electric Shuffle (the New Year’s bar-night), Winter Wonderland, and so much more. I played a key role in this year’s iteration of IC Hack as a Hacker Experience Team Lead, organising highlights like the massive HeyTea/Pastel de Nata drop and the matcha stand, just to name a few.
I’m looking to draw on my experience this year to go bigger and better in everything we do. If you vote for me, this is what I’ll give back to you:
- More of the same: The events this year have been a massive success. I’ll build on this to keep delivering what we do well.
- A better feedback loop: I want to help improve DoCSoc by making it easier for your ideas to be heard. While you can always share event ideas with me directly, I’ll also circulate an events form through all our channels to reduce friction and gather more suggestions.
- More bar-nights: There haven’t been enough this year! Let’s bring them back!
My overarching goal for next year is to deliver the events that you want, at times that suit you. If you’re interested in hearing about what’s on our horizon, feel free to reach out! I’ll be in labs and around Huxley 😀
