Investment: Head of Sell-Side Corporate Relations

Hi everyone! I’m Kiran, a first-year Economics, Finance & Data Science student, and I’m excited to be running for Head of Sell-Side Corporate Relations at the Imperial College Investment Society.

Over the past year, I’ve developed a strong interest in financial markets and investment banking through both academic study and practical experience. I currently work with Imperial Consulting Group, advising a private equity firm on European private credit markets, and contribute to a US markets newsletter analysing macroeconomic releases and equity market movements. I’ve also competed in investment competitions, placing 3rd in Imperial’s Stock Pitch Competition and Top 50 nationally in the UK Investment Competition. These experiences have shown me how important industry exposure and networking are for students exploring careers on the sell-side.

If elected, my focus would be on strengthening the Investment Society’s relationships with banks and creating more opportunities for students to engage with the industry.

My priorities would include:

1)Expanding partnerships with investment banks across bulge brackets, elite boutiques and middle-market firms.
2)Organising more networking events, panel talks and office visits to give members direct exposure to professionals working in investment banking and capital markets.
3)Creating more practical career resources, such as application workshops, insight events and Q&A sessions with analysts and associates.

Imperial has an incredibly talented student body, and I want to help ensure the Investment Society continues to connect students with the opportunities and insights they need to succeed in finance.
