Algorithmic Trading: Head of Events

We’re Aaron and Rohan, a first-year JMC and first-year Maths student, running for Head of Events. As active AlgoSoc members, we know what works, and what could be improved. We want to build on this year’s success and make events smoother and more valuable for everyone, from beginners to those preparing for quant interviews.

I’ve attended Jane Street FOCUS, been invited to Discover Citadel, and competed in BMO1 three times. Alongside trading exposure and my maths experience, I served as Head Boy, with experience presenting to large audiences, something I'd be confident doing for AlgoSoc.

(Aaron)

I’ll be attending HSBC’s S&T Spring Week and previously spent a week with JP Morgan’s fintech team. Within AlgoSoc, I’m Head of Development in my QTC EduFund team. I was also an ICHack organiser this year, and have delivered maths lectures with the Royal Society, so I’m ready to handle the logistical and organisational challenges of our events.

Why us? Beyond our experience, we've got clear plans:

Involve sponsors for even more events, from things like firm-led workshops to fireside chats/networking sessions, so that AlgoSoc membership truly matters.
Run even more events, like market making games, estimathons, and more, of course all involving our sponsors as much as possible.
Smoothen on-the-day management, especially for our most hectic events (like we saw this year, it’s often quite crowded!).
Promote events further, and work hard to keep students interacting with us even more, so AlgoSoc keeps breaking records.
