Maheen Shah

Hii, I'm Maheen, a First Year Biochemistry student running for Head of Events/Sponsership of Imperial Women in Business because this society has genuinely shaped my first year, professionally and socially. Through attending Women in Business events, I have made some of my closest friends at Imperial, particularly at the more collaborative sessions where you work with the people around you, exchange ideas, and actually get to know the other attendees. I am currently an Associate Consultant at Imperial Consulting Group and have previously worked with 180 Degrees Consulting. Alongside this I am also currently External Liaison Officer for Imperial College London FemTech Society. In this role, I have helped out with femtech networking fairs and conferences, which have shown me how much stronger events are when they are interactive and therefore if elected, I want to increase office visits connecting women directly with firms, bring more networking fairs and most importantly, make our events more collaborative and community driven. I would introduce more relaxed, social events, where members can snack, talk and meet like-minded women interested in business, whether that’s through startup themed mixers, small group idea exchanges or socials for aspiring entrepreneurs. Women in Business shouldn’t only help you build a career but also help you build your circle and I want to create events where both happen naturally.
