Beom Soo Choi

Hi! I’m Maaira, and I’m super excited to be running for Treasurer of iPRAS.

Over the past couple of years, I’ve developed strong organisational and communication skills through my roles as Publicity Officer for ICSM Teddy Bear Hospital, a member of the iPRAS subcommittee, and Regional Head for In2MedSchool.

Being part of the iPRAS subcommittee this year has been a really rewarding experience. I’ve loved working closely with fellow committee members to help deliver exciting events, including the Paediatric Plastic Surgery Conference earlier this year. Seeing the range of opportunities iPRAS offers students has made me incredibly eager to contribute further to the society.

As Publicity Officer for TBH, I was responsible for recruiting volunteers for weekly school visits and liaising with other societies to maximise engagement. This required careful organisation, clear communication, and consistent follow-through, which I believe are essential skills for managing finances.

In my role as Regional Head for In2MedSchool, I’ve handled the logistics of safeguarding, mentor–mentee allocation, and regular follow-ups. Taking on this managerial responsibility has strengthened my ability to oversee complex systems, which I believe is very transferable to budgeting, sourcing income, and managing inventory as Treasurer.

I’m very excited by the opportunity to take on the financial responsibility of iPRAS and ensure the society can continue to run high-quality, accessible events for students.
