Energy: Vice-President (Events)

I’m Ahaan Hattangadi, an MSci Chemistry student, running to be your next Vice President: Events because I believe our events should reflect the full intellectual range of our society, from people passionate in energy from engineering to natural sciences.

Since joining 'Energy' , I have actively contributed through the Solar Project on Green and Blue hydrogen, alongside wider work in the energy space: including my IB Extended Essay on the effectiveness of 'Green Hydrogen as a Transport Fuel' and a project with Naked Energy on the integration of desalination technologies with their VirtuHOT solar thermal collector. Through this, I’ve seen how valuable interdisciplinary conversations can be when engineers and scientists work together.

My past leadership experience make me a strong candidate. As Chair of 'Ladakh GC', one of the largest service organisations in my high school, I helped organise numerous large-scale fundraising initiatives, including Kahaani and Run for Rights, each of which raised over 10,000 SGD. I was also part of Student Voice, contributing to the planning of school-wide assemblies. These roles taught me how to manage teams, coordinate logistics, and run events effectively: skills directly applicable to this role.

My Vision for Events

As Vice President: Events, I aim to design a structured events calendar that reflects Energy through an interdisciplinary lens.

Expand On: Energy talks from world experts on hydrogen, carbon capture, climate tech, and energy policy etc.

Introduce: Networking and career insights for roles across engineering, natural sciences, and finance, plus hands-on prototyping and sustainable energy hackathon events.
