Kush Bhalla
Hey everyone, I'm Kush!
I'm a second-year Chemistry student, and since coming to Imperial, I've been actively involved in Energy Society. During first year, I worked on the climate report project and participated in the hackathon with LCP Delta. This year, as Secretary, I've managed the Siemens wind turbines project (200+ applications) and reached out to industry experts to organise talks and expand the society's reach. Through these experiences, I've gained an understanding of how Energy Society operates, but also how we can improve it further.
I believe that Energy Society has huge potential to grow its presence on campus and offer new and exciting opportunities to students. If elected, I would focus on the following:
Raising awareness at Freshers' Fair:
- Running a stall to increase visibility of the society and raise awareness of the amazing opportunities available to students.
Bringing back more in-person events:
- Including mixers and an introductory session at the start of term to showcase the projects we're running, while creating a stronger sense of community within the society.
Expanding and diverifying our talks:
- Organising more in-person events from speakers across different sectors of the energy industry, as well as some application-based sessions.
I'm really excited about the opportunity to continue to contribute to Energy Society and I would really appreciate your support.
