Hi, I’m Aishat, a 3rd Year Medical Student!

I’m super excited to run for ICOGS Conference Co Chair this year! Having previously attended the conference, I experienced first-hand how truly inspiring it can be. The experience is what motivates me to want to give back by helping shape an even stronger conference for future attendees.

This year, I served as Roadshow Chair with Vision, where I organised multiple workshops and liaised with external institutions to deliver successful events. This role strengthened my organisational and communication skills, teaching me how to coordinate teams, manage logistics, and build professional relationships effectively, all essential for leading a high-quality conference.

If elected, I would like to:

curate a more diverse and representative speaker panel, ensuring diversity in background, career stage, subspecialty interest and lived experience.
introduce a focused session on breaking into academia, guiding students on how to get involved in audits, QI projects, and research.
strengthen networking opportunities by incorporating a speed networking session to foster meaningful connections that extend beyond the day.

Overall, my goal is to deliver an inclusive, inspiring and engaging conference that supports every student considering a future in Obs & Gynae. Thank you!
