Obstetrics & Gynaecology: Conference Co-Chair

Hi Everyone!

My name is Asaavari, and I'm running to be one of your Conference Co-Chair's for next year!

Women’s health has never been a passive interest for me. It's something I've actively wanted to invest my time in since long before university, having set up large-scale cervical cancer camps in rural parts of India.

At uni, I started on the FemTech subcommittee, then served as Events Officer this year, and am now running for Co-Chair of the society. This year, I also had the privilege of being on the Obs & Gynae Conference Subcommittee. Each role deepened my commitment to this field and my understanding of what it takes to deliver an impactful event.

Working on women's health events has shown me the level of detail, coordination, and teamwork required behind the scenes. I learned how to manage timelines, liaise with speakers, and problem-solve when things inevitably change. Most importantly, I saw how powerful a well-curated conference can be in shaping students’ perspectives.

If elected Conference Chair, I want to build on what we’ve achieved and elevate it further. I would focus on curating a diverse speaker line-up, strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration, and ensuring smooth, structured organisation so the committee can work efficiently and creatively.

I bring experience and a growing network within women’s health. But above all, I bring enthusiasm and commitment.

I would be honoured to lead next year’s conference and create an event that informs, inspires, and reflects the future of obstetrics and gynaecology.
