Women in Business: Head of Marketing

Hi everyone! I’m Marissa, a second-year Molecular Bioengineering student, and I’m running to be Head of Marketing for Women in Business.

As Publicity Secretary for Cheerleading, I’ve been responsible for managing our social media presence, creating promotional materials, and shaping how we present our events to both members and the wider university community. Whether promoting competitions or driving attendance at socials, I’ve seen firsthand how thoughtful, consistent marketing can boost engagement and strengthen a society’s identity.

As Head of Marketing, I want to further develop the Women in Business brand across campus. This means clearly and creatively promoting our panel events and workshops across career paths such as Finance, Consulting, Tech, and VC — not just advertising them, but highlighting how they support members in exploring interests and preparing for spring and summer internships.

I’m also keen to enhance how we market collaborations with leading firms, ensuring networking events, office visits, and sponsor partnerships are polished, visible, and aligned with the professionalism and ambition of our members.

In addition, I hope to utilise connections with Imperial alumni, Imperial Business School, and women-focused organisations like GAIN and Women in Trading to broaden our outreach and strengthen cross-promotion opportunities.

Ultimately, my aim is to ensure that every event, partnership, and initiative is communicated effectively — growing our reach, increasing engagement, and reinforcing Women in Business as a standout community at Imperial.
