Hey yall! I am Aida and I am running for events officer. After experiencing so many of the MSoc events this year, I have become accquainted with so many other Malaysians, something that I have never had the chance to do before. For that reason, I am committed to make everyone’s time at Imperial a moment in their life to reminisce upon. My plan to achieve this is via:

My Key Goals:

1. Inclusivity: Introduce various new events that can be enjoyed by anyone. Everyone's voice matters, please contact me if you have any ideas, I will listen and act immediately. I plan to encourage students from the Malaysian diaspora, especially those who didn't go to the Fresher's Camp to attend events.
2. Fun!: Events can always be livelier and more interactive. I propose introducing a shared spotify playlist for events and competitions for the best dressed at themed occasions.

Event Improvements:

• More Potlucks
• Events for freshers: walks, museum visits or other free activities for socialising

Event ideas:

• Movie Night - Voting for movie trips or screening movies on campus
• Bonfire Night
• Asian Food Festival - Produces revenue and increases budget
• Malaysian-Style Pancake Day - indulge in pancake-like foods, Malaysian edition i.e. roti jala, apam balik, murtabak, roti canai
• LGBTQ+ Month activities - drag show trip, movie screening or arts & crafts
• Picnic

We could interview attendees at events to post on tiktok or reels and strengthen our society's presence.
