Oncology: Academic Officer

I am a third-year medical student with a strong interest in oncology and a passion for teaching, I am running for Oncology Society Academic Officer to make oncology more accessible and engaging for students at all stages. Through leading CPA teaching and tutoring younger students, I have developed the ability to explain complex concepts clearly, focus on high-yield content, and adapt sessions to different learning needs. As early years representative for the Infectious Diseases Society, I gained experience in academic event planning and ensuring teaching is pitched at the right level, while my role as medical school liaison with Vision has given me valuable insight into working collaboratively with clinicians and faculty. If elected, I plan to run focused oncology exam revision sessions targeting common, high-yield topics, alongside more general teaching events that introduce key principles and use case-based discussions for clinical years. I also hope to coordinate talks with clinicians and researchers to highlight new developments in oncology and showcase opportunities for student involvement. I am committed and organised and I would work closely with members to ensure our academic events are useful and responsive to feedback.
