Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine: Welfare Officer

As Welfare Officer, I will make wellbeing a clear, practical priority within PHEM Society. Our members manage a demanding academic workload alongside society commitments, exams, deadlines, and the pressure to perform. That environment can be rewarding, but it can also be overwhelming. I will introduce regular confidential check-ins, create an anonymous feedback channel, and ensure clear signposting to Imperial’s welfare and mental health services. I will organise focused sessions around exam stress, managing workload during peak periods, and maintaining balance. Welfare should be proactive, visible, and embedded into how the society runs, not addressed only when problems escalate.

I am approachable, reliable, and action-oriented. I will listen carefully, represent your concerns accurately within the committee, and push for practical changes that improve members’ experiences. I will review event timing around busy academic periods, prioritise inclusive and accessible planning, and communicate clearly about what actions are being taken. This role is about trust and follow-through. If elected, I will work consistently to ensure PHEM Society is not only high-achieving, but supportive, respectful, and genuinely attentive to the wellbeing of every member.
