Cardiovascular: Vice Chair

Hi everyone, I’m Shivank and I’m running for Vice Chair of the Cardiovascular Society.

My vision is to create a community where every member can access meaningful opportunities to learn, network, and gain practical experience in cardiovascular medicine. I want our events, conferences, and initiatives to be well-run, inclusive, and truly beneficial to students.

As Vice Chair, I will focus on:

Creating hands-on opportunities for members, including workshops, clinical exposure, and research projects.
Facilitating mentorship and guidance, connecting students with clinicians, researchers, and alumni for career insight and advice.
Supporting the committee in delivering high-quality events, from planning and logistics to engagement, so every initiative runs smoothly and adds value.

As co-founder of a surgical recovery monitoring app, I have coordinated tasks, engaged clinicians for feedback, and overseen the project’s development, ensuring steady progress and effective organisation. I have also led charity initiatives, coordinating logistics and volunteers. These experiences have strengthened my planning, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, and equip me to support the committee effectively while helping members make the most of the society.

I am committed to helping all students access opportunities, develop skills, and enjoy their time in the Cardiovascular Society, and I would be honoured to serve as Vice Chair.
