Cardiovascular: Vice Chair

Hello! I’m Ayan, and I’m excited to put myself forward for the role of Vice Chair of Cardiovascular Society.

CardioSoc has played a key role in shaping my interest in cardiovascular medicine, and I’m keen to contribute to its continued growth. I’ve helped organise and run multiple conferences through Surgical Society, and was involved in delivering the Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Conference. Being involved in delivering these events has given me valuable insight into what makes them engaging, educational, and impactful.

Beyond this, I bring strong leadership experience. As President of my school Debate Club, I organised tournaments and trained over 120 students, developing confidence in team coordination, communication, and event planning. I also organised a sports medicine talk with the Head of Sports Medicine at Arsenal FC, liaising with a senior clinician to deliver an inspiring and well-attended event. These experiences strengthened my ability to connect students with high-quality speakers and opportunities.

If elected, I will:

Create clearer research and audit pathways – Connect students with cardiology projects, audits, and academic mentors to support portfolio development.

Introduce structured teaching sessions – Deliver high-yield workshops ranging from ECG fundamentals to interactive case discussions.

Strengthen multidisciplinary collaboration – Partner with other societies to deliver joint cardiovascular and cardiothoracic events reflecting real clinical teamwork.

I believe CardioSoc has potential to grow even further. I’m eager to work closely with the committee to build on its strong foundations and ensure it continues to thrive.

Thank you for your consideration - I’d truly appreciate your support!
