Arzeen Khan
Cardiovascular: Vice Chair
Hello everyone, I’m Arzeen Khan. As a subcommittee member of Cardiovascular Society, I have developed strong leadership, organisational, and coordination skills through active involvement in event planning and delivery. I contributed to initiatives such as the Little Hearts Project, a primary-school outreach programme introducing children to cardiology. As Speaker Coordinator for the Cardiovascular Conference, I secured THREE of four speakers and FIVE of six panellists, organised workshops, served as a group lead on the day, and promoted the conference to my year group and external students, contributing to a well-attended and successful event.
When elected I will:
- Re-launch the Cardio-Connect Event, in collaboration with London medical schools (UCL, Kings, Queen Mary and St George’s). Held at Imperial during Freshers’ Week, it will feature cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, a Q&A panel, and a networking session with refreshments. This event will be FREE for our members and will aid students in gaining valuable contacts and potential research opportunities.
- Expand the Cardiovascular Conference by developing it into a two-day event in collaboration with the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge. Building on this year’s success, we will grow our workshops, increase participation, and improve collaboration across universities.
- Introduce a Structured Mentorship Programme, where we pair early-year students with registrars for personalised guidance on training pathways, portfolio building, research, and career planning.
- Improve Workshops Based on Delegate Feedback by increasing their duration and having more demonstrators to increase personalised learning.
To make this vision a reality, you need to vote Arzeen Khan for Vice Chair.
