Shruthi Vijayakumar

Hi everyone!! I’m Shruthi and I would love to be a part of your Paediatrics committee next year. I’ve always had an interest in paediatrics, and coming to university and interacting with the society has made me realise this is the career I want to pursue. I would love to work with likeminded individuals who are all as passionate about paediatrics as I am :)

Being on the academic subcommittee this year has made me realise I'd like to be more involved in the running of the society, and after attending this year’s paediatric conference, I understand the amount of time and effort put in to running the soc and would love to use my skillset to help out. The society is so diverse, with many different branches to cater to many different needs. As secretary, I would be able to get involved in all of these and ensure that all events throughout the year run smoothly!

Being member liaison for another society and working closely with core committee has helped me develop my communication skills, and understand the work that needs to be put in to ensure everything will run smoothly. Clear, effective communication between committee and members is key, and is something I can play a big role in. Being organised is a core skill required for this role, and is one I have developed well, through managing time efficiently between my academics and my other commitments. I hope to work with you all in the upcoming year!!
