Subanu Suthakaran

Hi everyone! I’m Subanu, a fourth-year medic, and I’m running to be your Secretary for ICSM Paediatrics Society 🫶🏽

Over the past year, I’ve really enjoyed being part of the ICSM Paeds while serving as Publicity Officer! It’s been incredibly rewarding helping promote our events, highlight opportunities, and see more students engage with such an inspiring specialty. Being involved in the Milestones Matter conference and volunteering as Playteam Leader at St Mary’s have also been amazing experiences that constantly remind me what a special and supportive community we have here at ICSM Paeds.

Alongside this, I’ve been Conference Chair for ICOGS, where I’ve gained extensive experience managing the logistics that keep societies running smoothly. While organising a large conference, I’ve worked with room bookings, merchandise orders, newsletters and coordinating teams, giving me a strong understanding of the behind-the-scenes work that makes events successful. These experiences have strengthened my organisation, attention to detail, and ability to keep things running efficiently.

Because of this, I’m very aware of the demands of the Secretary role. You can trust me to handle meeting minutes, communications, and administrative responsibilities reliably, helping the committee stay organised and ensuring everything runs smoothly throughout the year.

Having already worked closely with the committee this year, I understand how the society operates and would love to continue supporting the team as we deliver great events and opportunities for our members.
