Akilesh Rathinam

Hi everyone, I’m Akilesh and I’d love to be Secretary next year!

I’ve really enjoyed my time on committee this year in the PlayTeam stream, and I would like the opportunity to contribute to the society overall more!

A big part of being the secretary is the huge amount of administrative burden involved in running such a large society, I’ve had a lot of experience in this through other committee roles such as being School Liaison for Teddy Bear Hospital where basically ALL I do is write emails to coordinate visits with local schools every week. I’ve also had a lot of experience in coordinating and communicating within committees through more education focussed roles such as coordinating a Med-Ed Crash course or a yearlong teaching series for SUPTA.

Another aspect of the role is working to get the committee quarter zips, I’ve had EXTENSIVE experience with the supplier who we use while Equipment Officer for Teddy Bear Hospital as we use the same supplier for ordering our shirts as well as while on PlayTeam this year for our volunteer shits.

Paediatric’s society is one of the most wholesome societies, academic or otherwise and I’d love to continue to be a part of it!
