Homare Shimada

Hello! My name is Homare, and I'm running to become VP Projects for ICG!

I have completed 3 projects with ICG and more at other consulting groups as both an associate and Project Manager.

I've experienced everything from joining calls at 2 am to disappearing clients, and I am confident that I can bring a well rounded perspective to this role.

Key Points I would like to address as VP Projects are:

1. Clearer communication with clients from the committee to manage expectations of workload and communication with project managers

2. Continued improvement of mentorship for both associates and project managers - especially specialised training for project managers and its unique skillset

3. Being more prepared to address unique challenges that occur at different cycles through out the year - through strengthened communications in Summer cycles to more holistic training in the Spring cycle where newer associates tend to join.

As President of Japan Society this year, I have experience with corporate outreach and relationship management, bringing in £5000 worth of new sponsors and new internship opportunities heavily preferring Imperial students. While this will not be my exact role as VP, I will utilise the skills I gained this past year to secure us clients that are not only willing, but excited to work with us.

I will be committed to make the experience at ICG not only valuable for all students who work with us, but for our clients as well to improve project quality on both sides of the relationship.
