Sarah Azeta
From last year, I’ve learned that leadership is not about being the most talented or the best person in the room. It is revealed in the willingness to serve and to faithfully steward the responsibility entrusted to you.
I’ve also learned to be flexible with my vision. It doesn’t have to be built solely by me, in fact, it shouldn’t be. Vision is strongest when it is formed and pursued in unity. True progress comes through collaboration, where every voice matters and every contribution strengthens the whole. That is the space I hope to help shape as Musical Director this year.
I’ve been deeply impacted by leadership that genuinely cares, one invested not only in excellence, but in people. That example has shaped me and encouraged me to do the same. By God’s grace, I’ve grown in patience and organisation, building the capacity to invest intentionally in both the team and each choir member individually.
I want to lead with grace and compassion, especially when things don’t go as planned. My hope is that no one leaves rehearsal discouraged or ashamed, but empowered, valued, and inspired. I want our community to feel so connected that people are confident enough to share ideas and contribute creatively.
I desire to grow in this calling and help others discover the joy and freedom found in worshipping and singing as one, creating a space where gifts are magnified to uplift both our choir and our wider community.
