I am Hoh Xuan Loong, an undergraduate Aeronautics student. I am running for the position of Industrial Liaison Officer. I am highly interested in sponsorship outreach and industry engagement, which I believe will be an important skill for gaining deeper exposure to aerospace careers in my future undertakings. I am looking forward to leveraging my experiences to strengthen ICSS’s connections with the space sector and industry leaders and invest in many of our projects. I am currently serving as the unofficial secretary of ICSS, where I have gained experience in communication and coordination as a key member of the committee. I have been involved in contacting potential aerospace sponsors by drafting outreach templates, which has given me practical experience in industry communication.
I am part of the Imperial TEDx Sponsorship Team, where my responsibilities include reaching out to organisations for sponsorship opportunities. I have scouted over 20 potential organisations and contributed to drafting sponsorship templates for effective communication, where our team eventually secured a photography sponsor for the annual conference.
If elected as Industrial Liaison Officer, I aim to establish stronger partnerships between ICSS and organisations within the aerospace industry such as Skyrora, Magdrive, Reaction Engines, Astroscale, and Airbus Defence & Space. Beyond sponsorship, I would like to introduce industry-linked opportunities such as company-led discussions, technical workshops, and design challenges based on real aerospace topics. My goal is to build sustainable collaborations while ensuring ICSS members gain exposure to industry professionals and explore future career pathways within the aerospace sector.
