I’m standing to be your Social Events Coordinator because I don’t just want us to survive this degree - I want us to enjoy it, remember it, and build real friendships through it.
Hi, I’m Saisha. Beyond the lectures, lab reports, and last-minute MATLAB crises, I believe our cohort should feel like a community - not just a collection of stressed individuals sharing deadlines. The best ideas in bioengineering come from collaboration, and collaboration starts with connection. My goal is simple: create events that are genuinely inclusive, low-pressure, and actually fun - whether that’s themed formals, relaxed post-exam socials, charity challenges, or spontaneous “we survived that module” celebrations.
In a course like ours, the difference between just getting through it and truly thriving is the people around you. I want to make sure no one feels left out, overwhelmed, or like they don’t belong. Whether you’re someone who loves a big themed night out or prefers a smaller, relaxed coffee catch-up, there will be something for you :)
What sets me apart is that I don’t see socials as an afterthought - I’m organised, proactive, and not afraid to reach out, plan ahead, and make things happen. But more importantly, I listen to others. I want events shaped by what you actually want, not what sounds good on paper.
We’re going to spend long days in labs and even longer nights revising. Let’s make sure we also create moments that make us laugh, connect, and look back thinking “that was such a good year”.
