Hello everyone,
I’m Egor, a second year Medical Biosciences student, running to be your President of the Russian Speaking Society.
To me, this role carries the responsibility of representing both Russian-speaking members and those who are simply curious and wish to explore the cultures connected through the Russian language. Although we come from different backgrounds and experiences, we share a common desire to promote the Russian-speaking world and present its values with the respect and recognition they deserve.
Having lived most of my life in Russia while also studying and representing our culture here in the UK, I believe I understand both the cultural roots that shape who we are and the international perspectives that define our community. In this role, I hope to bring together people with shared values from different backgrounds and develop new ways to promote our traditions and common passion– the Russian-speaking world.
Rather than making broad promises, I want to emphasise commitment. If elected, I will dedicate my time and effort to supporting the society and representing it both within and beyond Imperial, strengthening collaboration with other Russian-speaking societies across London universities. I will also take the lead in organising a range of social events, cultural initiatives, and guest talks that reflect the interests of our members.
I look forward to working closely with the elected committee to further develop our society and ensure it remains welcoming and open to everyone interested. Together, let’s once again show the unity we are proud of.
