Hi everyone!

I'm ANQI XU. I’m running to be your next Deputy President (Socials) because I truly believe the heart of the Imperial Hiking Society is its people! Hiking brings us to incredible places, but it’s the friendships, laughter, and shared memories that make it unforgettable — and I want to help create even more of those moments.

I’m a naturally outgoing, energetic and positive person who loves meeting new people and bringing different groups together! I thrive in social environments and genuinely enjoy organising events, from large themed socials to relaxed post-hike pub trips. Seeing people connect, feel included, and have fun is what motivates me.

If elected, I’ll organise a wide range of engaging and inclusive socials throughout the year: creative themed nights, collaborative events with other societies, casual catch-ups after hikes, and big end-of-term celebrations. I want every member — whether you’re a fresher or a long-time hiker — to feel welcomed and excited to attend.

I’m proactive, organised, and always open to new ideas. I want our socials to reflect what members actually enjoy, and I’ll work hard to ensure there’s something for everyone.

Let’s make this year not only full of amazing hikes, but also full of energy, connection and unforgettable memories.
