Hi everyone!

I'm Aditi Arul and I’m running for Treasurer of ChemEngSoc because behind every great event is one very organised spreadsheet, and I’m ready to be that spreadsheet.

After serving as Tours Officer, I’ve managed budgets, coordinated with companies, handled payments, and learned how quickly costs add up if you’re not paying attention, which means I understand both the logistical and financial side of running successful events.

If elected, I’ll introduce a clear termly budget breakdown within the first month so committee members always know what we can (and can’t) spend, track all spending transparently, and aim to increase sponsorship or external funding by at least 15% by the end of the year. It’s achievable, realistic, and completely within the my power. My goal? More financially secure events, smarter spending, and a ChemEngSoc bank balance that’s as strong as our problem-solving skills.

Being financially organised isn’t just about numbers, it directly benefits you. Strong budgeting means we can keep ticket prices lower, run more subsidised events, and invest in bigger opportunities like industry trips, networking sessions, and socials without stretching members’ wallets. Better sponsorship and smarter spending means more value for every student, more experiences, more connections, and more chances to make the most of your ChemEng degree without worrying about cost.
