Marissa Wu
Hi everyone! I’m Marissa, a second-year Molecular Bioengineering student.
Many of you may know me from my role as Secretary of the Bioengineering Society — whether through my weekly newsletters, constant inbox reminders, or helping organise our boat party at the start of the year. Being Secretary has given me a real appreciation for the behind-the-scenes work that keeps our community running smoothly: clear communication, detailed planning, and making sure every event feels worth your time.
I’m running for Bioengineering Vice President because I want to build on that experience and continue strengthening our cohort’s sense of community. From organising large-scale socials to improving academic support and industry engagement, I understand how much coordination and consistency it takes to make things happen, and I’m ready to take that on.
My goal is to make Bioengineering feel connected across all years: ensuring events are well-organised, opportunities are clearly communicated, and everyone feels included, whether you’re here for the socials, careers support, or simply to meet more people on your course.
Most importantly, I want to keep listening to what you want from the society and turn those ideas into action.
