Yanzi Jiang

Hi everyone, I’m Yanzi, a 2nd year Biomedical Engineering student, and I’m excited to run for CGCU Communications Chair!

Last year, I had the privilege of serving as CGCU’s Media & Marketing Officer. From designing posters and managing social media to promoting events and coordinating publicity, I worked closely with different teams to help their ideas reach a wider audience. Through this role, I gained first-hand insight into how CGCU communicates with students: what works well and where we can improve.

Effective communication isn’t just about promotion. It’s about clarity, consistency, and connection. It’s about making sure students know what opportunities are available, feel represented in what they see, and feel confident that their voices matter.

With a year of experience behind the scenes, I understand the structure, workflow, and challenges of CGCU media. This experience has given me the confidence and practical skills to take on the broader responsibilities of Communications Chair. I want to build on what we’ve achieved and further improve transparency, streamline communication across platforms, and ensure CGCU’s messaging is clear, accessible, and student-focused.
