Hi everyone!
I'm Helen, and having really enjoyed being a Year 1 Academic Representative this year, I would love to represent you as your Departmental Wellbeing Representative.
Life at Imperial can be hard, and Physics certainly does not have the reputation of being the easiest degree. Nonetheless, this should absolutely not mean sacrificing your wellbeing to maximise achievement.
My goal is to work with you to identify and address challenges and bottlenecks to make your wellbeing a priority. With friends and connections across all the UG years, I aim to gather information both directly from you and from the year reps so that we can bring up issues with the department to improve your experience, no matter what stage you are at in your studies.
Furthermore, I would like to encourage closer connections between the reps. Being able to work as a team will allow us to leverage big-picture thinking to identify patterns across the entire UG cohort, and identify where our strategies have (and haven't) worked.
Finally, from a personal perspective I understand how difficult uni can be when life gets in the way. Whether it's knowing who to turn to or simply having a friendly face around, I'll be there.
