As the Ethics and Environment Officer, I would aim to:
- Involve societies in sustainability initiatives by giving them a framework to assess and improve the sustainability of their activities.
- Promote sustainability in university catering through food bins for better food waste management and reduced use of non-recyclable materials.
- Add sustainability scores to food and other products sold at Imperial to make students aware about what they’re purchasing and allow them to make more sustainable choices.
- Boost careers in sustainability through a centralized job board specifically for work and volunteering opportunities in the green industry
- Make Imperial’s work ethics and sustainability more transparent by creating an online dashboard that records all relevant data and statistics available for students to see at any time. This helps keep the university accountable for their practices and translate goals into reality.
