Hi! I'm Sally, a biochemistry student running for RCSU president! Being part of the RCSU is one of my favorite parts about Imperial and I would like to grow this wonderful community next year!
As the current Activities Vice President, I planned all of this year's social events, with many more still in the works! This year, I lowered the cost of RCSU events and expanded our PG events calendar.
As RCSU president, I will push to improve student life at every level of FoNS.
My goals for next year:
Amplify student voices across the faculty
- work closely with the VP Education, VP Welfare, department, and year reps to push for positive changes
- encourage a closer relationship between PG AWOs and the VP Postgraduate Studies to strengthen postgraduate advocacy
- expand our activities to White City so no student misses out
Increase support for DepSocs
- advocate at the Union level for faster responses and greater accountability
- keep an inventory of large equipment for all societies to borrow for free
Maintain our close relationship with the RCSA
- coordinate the careers panels - I hope to cement these into RCS tradition!
- revisit implementing the mentoring scheme to pair undergraduates with alumni working in their fields
I also plan to keep up the typical RCSU activities of huge low-cost events, Broadsheet (magazine), and Science Challenge and will do my best to support the VPA and VPO to achieve this!
