Hey guys, my name is Davin!
I'm a first year student - you may know me from a certain imperial_confessions reel (I will not elaborate on this).
Believing that assignments are best completed on campus, I hang around labs whenever there's a PPT to be done. Many a time I've sat in until ungodly hours, grinding until the tests compile (looking at you, L-Systems).
As your academic rep, I will keep up that consistent and persistent attitude when it comes to receiving feedback and representing all the students in the lecture halls (and on Panopto). When I'm not sleeping through Kotlin, I spend my lecture time pondering how the lecture could be improved - like having Abbas improve his handwriting, or having Chiraag let us go on time. As academic rep, I can finally action on those points and make sure everybody's voice is not just heard, but considered (much like how I hear Architecture lectures but never consider remembering them).
Some key ideas I want to implement are:
- improving lab conditions (namely the smell). It should really be an attractive contender for a place of work compared to home, because it SHOULD feel like home.
- shift Departmental Student-Staff Committee interactions towards the EdStem forums. It's where the loudest of our bunch, the EdStem warriors are active, after all.
I'm always at lectures, so if you have any ideas for how the academic course can be improved, give me a shout! If you don't hear a response, it's because I'm mewing.
