Imperial College Union President

Hi, I’m Daniel from CGCU, running to be your next Union President.

Over the past three years as CGCU President, I’ve worked closely with student representatives, societies, and Union teams across Imperial. This experience has shown me where the Union supports students well, and where we can do better. Through the Constituent Union system, I’ve seen how strong student-led communities and clear structures can strengthen representation. I want to bring that same clarity and support to students across Imperial.

I will focus on:

Delivering Practical Student Support

  • Create more paid opportunities for students to contribute to Union projects and initiatives
  • Push for fairer timing of coursework deadlines and exams, especially during busy internship recruitment periods
  • Improve study space availability during exam periods by opening underused campus spaces
  • Expand access to sanitary products across campuses
  • Expand exam-period wellbeing initiatives, including free exam breakfast sessions across Imperial

Strengthening Student Representation

  • Ensure students are involved in major Campus/Union decisions
  • Ensure clear communication of College and Union decisions, with timelines and impact summaries for students
  • Establish clearer feedback loops so student input receives visible responses
  • Support student autonomy and initiative by ensuring Union systems better support student ideas

Creating a connected Imperial Community

  • Expand mentorship and internship opportunities by connecting students with CU alumni associations
  • Support long-term student–alumni engagement, ensuring Imperial connections continue beyond graduation

My focus is simple: a clearer, more consistent Union that works better for every student. If you share this vision, I’d be grateful for your support.
