Hi! I’m Anson, your current Deputy President Welfare (DPW), running for President.
With four years in BioEng and various CSP/Rep roles, I know how to get things moving. Here’s what I promised last year and achieved in just 7 months as DPW:
- Secured funding and workshops for culturally-sensitive counselling
- Advocated for an increase in bursaries and shuttle bus services (launching April!)
- Supported swap shops, sustainability events and student-led projects
- Kickstarted common room refurb - one major refurb done, more in the pipeline
As DPW, I have worked alongside the President - I’m ready to step up and hit the ground running. I will:
Student Life
- Partner with charities to advise students on renting rights
- Publish food prices tracking data to push for more budget-friendly options
- Bridge gaps in Postgrad experiences - from reporting concerns safely to intercampus parity
- Advocate for more meeting and study spaces
Imperial Should Put Students Before Profits
- Track Imperial’s response to student feedback, holding them accountable on decisions, from facilities to investments
- Establish needs-based criteria for financially supporting underrepresented international students. Education should be more accessible than £43K/Year.
The Union should work for you, not against you
- Establish clear 'You Said We Did' to hold the Union accountable to your feedback, from apps to SUMS
- Build a Rep Knowledge Wiki for best practice and training
- Ensure ethical supply chains across Union operations
