“A problem shared is a problem halved.”
Hi! I’m Elfreda, a Master’s in Public Health student, and I want to be your Mental Health Welfare Officer.
Life at Imperial can be exciting and full of opportunities, but it can also feel nerve-wracking and overwhelming. Many of us are trying to balance coursework, deadlines, friendships, finances, and personal wellbeing all at once. I know what it's like to struggle quietly, and I don't want anyone to feel like they have to carry everything alone. My goal is to make sure you feel seen, heard, and supported.
Coming from a medical background, I’ve witnessed how stress, burnout, and uncertainty affect people in real ways. This shapes how I listen and support others with empathy and understanding.
If elected, I plan to focus on these areas:
1. Awareness & Accessibility
I want every student to know where to go for help- counselling, academic adjustments, crisis support, or someone to talk to. I’ll simplify signposting, highlight resources, and reduce stigma around asking for support.
2. Collaboration & Community
Partnering with welfare teams, student networks, and societies, I’ll help create safe, inclusive spaces where people can decompress, connect, and share. I want to build a community that genuinely looks out for one another.
3. Advocacy
I’ll present your concerns to ICU, pushing for better welfare policies, quicker support pathways, and a healthier learning environment for everyone.
You deserve a university experience where you can thrive, not just survive.
Let’s build that together.
Vote Elfreda for Mental Health Welfare Officer!
