Arushi Maheshwari
Hi, I’m Arushi and I would love to be your next community and outreach chair!
I have been actively involved in the paediatrics society for the last 2 years, with both play team and conference sub committee. I really loved the experience and would love to do more within the society.
I have a lot of experience with pediatric teaching and volunteering - being a play team volunteer has showed me the communication skills, compassion and empathy required while interacting with pediatric patients. I am a tutor for GCSE science, and am confident working with and engaging school-aged students. I have always enjoyed helping students in my community with their medical school applications and interview preparations and would love to extend this help to students acrosss London.
Being a part of various cultural and academic committees over the last year has helped me gain valuable communication and networking skills which I will use to establish connections with numerous schools and charities, and ideate and plan workshops and volunteering sessions with them.
I want to plan monthly secondary school visits for committee members to speak to students about their experience applying to med school and share tips and advice; I would also like to set up a mentorship program for interested students to get personal guidance and help! I want to increase more talks and worships where 6th formers can come to campus, experience college life and get to speak to faculty as well!
Thank you for reading my manifesto :)
