As a passionate first-year student in Chemical Engineering, I genuinely want to represent our voices and experiences as your Year One Academic Representative. I understand the challenges we face in adapting to university life, and I am committed to being your voice and advocate.
My primary goal is to ensure that every student feels supported and connected within our academic community. I believe in fostering an open dialogue where students can freely share their concerns, suggestions, and experiences. I will actively seek your feedback on course content, teaching methods, and resources to ensure our academic experience meets our needs.
Having organized various events during my gap years and served as head of events for my high school robotics team, I possess strong leadership and communication skills. I will utilize these skills to facilitate discussions between students and faculty, ensuring that your ideas are heard and considered in departmental decisions.
Promoting a sense of community among first-year students is also crucial. I plan to organize informal study groups and networking events that will allow us to connect, collaborate, and support one another throughout the academic year.
Additionally, I will advocate for enhanced academic resources, including access to tutoring and mentoring programs, to help all students excel in their studies.
As your Year One Academic Representative, I am dedicated to creating a positive and inclusive environment where every student in Chemical Engineering feels empowered and supported.
