Hi all! We are Luke (Second-year Physics) and Benjamin (Second-year Mechanical Engineering), CO-RUNNING for Head of Portfolio Management. We were analysts in the winning team of QT Capital last term and are currently in the team representing Imperial in the 2024 McGill Global Stock Pitch Competition.
We are extremely grateful for the work that the committee has done to make QT Capital so enjoyable for us. However, we believe that we can spearhead further innovations to help deliver a more insightful experience to analysts next year.
- Solidifying Analyst Foundations: Accounting & Valuation slides, Bloomberg Terminal guides and exemplar presentations will be shared to all analysts to increase familiarity with pitch creation and bridge the knowledge gap between new and experienced analysts.
- Improving Competition Equality: The first round of pitches will be organised in the same week, allowing for a fairer competition and reducing time pressure.
- Increasing Development Opportunities: In addition to the existing Systematic and Portfolio funds, M&A, LBO report and market update teams will be opened to tailor experiences to students seeking Investment Banking-specific experience.
- Prioritising Fund Management: Significant progress will be made on finalising QT Capital as an active investment fund. Analyst reports for the stocks selected from the competition will also be published.
Our first-hand experience as QT analysts will ensure that all analysts have a fair opportunity to develop their experience in finance next year, and we are confident that our portfolio investment expertise will drive the fund to greater heights.
