Consultancy: Vice President: Corporate Relations

Hi All!

My name is Duru, a second-year biochemistry student with a year in management. My aim is to be also increase the presence and voice of international students in this job market. As the International Students Well-being Officer, I heard the issues and heartbreaks of many students first-hand (especially with the current politics), and I believe we deserve more voice.

As the VP Corporate Relations, I will:

  • Host communications and events with more international companies that will help everybody.
  • Strengthen the pre-existing relationships and generate special opportunities for our members, aiding many to perhaps their first experiences in consulting.
  • Implement training sessions on maximizing chances of securing internships and graduate jobs.
  • Create "speed networking" events to facilitate connections between students and industry professionals.
  • Set up an alumni mentoring scheme providing support with industry insights, career exploration, internship/job applications, CV and cover letter guidance, case prep, and fit interviews.
  • Work tirelessly to ensure ICCS continues to develop an extensive network and provide exciting opportunities for all members throughout the year.
  • Develop a platform for like-minded students within Imperial to meet and find case practice partners.

Having secured a summer internship from a global consulting company and competed in almost a dozen case-studies, along with my diverse network and background in multiple committee roles such as treasurer and secretary, I believe I know how to actually implement my promises and will work towards creating an active alumni support.
