Maya Ozhun

Hello, my name is Maya.

I am a first year Materials student at Imperial. I was born and raised in İzmir/Turkey but attended highschool in England.

I have recently became a part of the Turkish Society at Imperial and was immediatly welcomed warmly with the Turkish hospitality I know and and love. Almost instantly I was able to create memeorable friendships. Whether it was a friendly face smiling as I walked past the library or sitting down for a chat by Queen's Lawn, the members of the society helped me find a sense of home and belonging in an unfmailiar enviornment.

Next year I wish to adopt the role of Social Secratry to greet newcomers the way I have been greeted so they to can find a safe and inclusive enviornment. As Social Secratry, naturally, I will ensure that everyone is well-informed and engaged with the organisations. Moreover, I plan to create an online social calender accessible to all members who want to easily find the details or ticket links for an event. I also aim to use the instagram account activley not only to post about events but also to celebrate the achievements of our members, under the slogan "Ne mutlu Türküm diyene" and more.

I hope to work togather to create a relaxed and fun enviornment at the society, where every moment is cherished.
