African Caribbean: Vice President

If elected as ACS Vice President, my primary focus will be to assist the President in actualizing the aims and vision for the society. I understand my role is multifaceted: assisting the president whilst also overseeing sub-teams such as the sponsorship team. I believe that I can undertake this responsibility to a high standard, as I am a proactive, solution-driven, and dedicated individual.

Through my role as ACS sponsorship officer this year, I have cultivated good relationships with our current sponsors, and potential sponsors for next year, and will utilize this to assist the sponsorship team. I believe that the experience I already have from being on the committee will be beneficial in knowing what systems should be kept, while also implementing changes where necessary. I understand the importance of effective communication and accountability and will ensure to implement this next year.

In addition, my experience of being on committee and being a member of ACS will aid me greatly, alongside the President, in knowing what is needed to develop areas such as cultivating a stronger committee dynamic, establishing a community sense in the ACS, and restoring our outreach initiatives. Working with relevant networks such as Black Networks of Imperial will be another area of focus to continue working on improving the experience of black people at Imperial.

I look forward to the role of Vice President, not just to fulfill my responsibilities, but to make a positive effect on the trajectory of the ACS for next year and beyond.
